The architectural project ‘‘Zero Space” is an innovative exploration that reimagines the concept of a courtyard.

In classical architectural designs, courtyards often serve as seating areas or spaces for internal communication. However, in the project “Zero Space” the author proposes to use the courtyard as the “beginning” of the formation of the surrounding space, as something stable. This involves the development of new architectural solutions aimed at maximizing the use of the usable area of the yard for a variety of functions.

The spatial principle of the house is based on the overlapping spaces. The central courtyard is a zero stable point. It is gradually being filled with additional spaces: living modules, workshops, guest houses and craft units. Thus, the structure of the house consists of a stable core (courtyard) and dynamic shells (functional modules). The courtyard forms an autonomous space consisting of an active garden and an exploitable roof connecting the living rooms of the residents. Moreover, the house is surrounded by a horse trail in the external space.
