According to ancient Greek mythology, it is a multi — headed serpent that has reached mighty size and strength. Hydra is an amphibian who lived in a cave in a lifeless swamp, where, according to Theogony, Hercules defeat the monster. The main feature of Hydra is the ability to regenerate severed heads, when two new ones instantly appear in place of one. This unusual feature became the basis of the idea of easily repairable inflatable modules connected to rigid modules embodying the solid body of Hydra.
